I have rust blued several firearms with good to great success as I learned over time.
I purchased the book Firearm blueing & Browning by R.H. Angier. It is full of recipes and how well they work and problems with each. Anyhow I figured for those of you interested in you home brew recipes this book is full of them. It covers using boxes etc with hot plates to generate moisture. It was wrote in 1936 when rust blueing was still widely used.
It covers how to rust blue or brown from start to finish. A good read for fellow novices. eBay is ful of them. Mine was used and priced at $9.99 shipped.
