Yeah the price of beef these days is insane. I remember buying two massive, thick and healthy ribeye being about 18 bucks for two. Now they are surpassing thirty some dollars for the same thing. That would tend to eat up my play money.You wana shoot, or you wana eat?? That is the question.......

My sister said she buys the racks of ribs at Aldi's for 10 bucks. I could afford to smoke ribs on the regular for that. But they mainly have Kroger and Food Lion around here and you can rule Food Lion completely out for beef. They are so much more than Kroger on everything else that it's strictly a look in the adds and buy what's on sale type deal. But I look at the price of meat at Kroger every time I go through there and it's staggering. The bad thing about Aldi's is here you have to drive so far to get to it. It's 20-25 minute drive to get to Aldi's. By that time you done ate up $10 worth of gas. The only way to come out on that deal is to buy four or five packs at a time and freeze the extra.
Take a back strap and cut it out flat. Stuff it with cream cheese and jalapeno. Roll it up with bacon. Cherry or Applewood. Pow!I want a smoker but just to wrapped up in my hobby.
Has anybody smoked deer meat in a smoker or is it too lean?
