Depending on how the independent testing goes, it's hard for me to figure out where the Omega fits within the product lineup. The specwar is a good, durable can at a good price point. The Saker also offers extreme durability, with an improved mount. The Omega is full auto rated, smaller, lighter and supposedly quieter, but not quite as durable, hence the longer minimum barrel length requirement. If I were looking for a 762 can that would see occasional light use on a 556 SBR, I'd probably give it a hard look. I could be wrong though and I look forward to seeing how it does head to head, on the same day and same rifles. I'd really like to know more about how it's actually constructed and how they've integrated the Ti tube and stellite core. If the core is fully welded and the Ti tube is basically just a weight saving sleeve, that would make sense to me.
Considering the omega had the benefit of longer barrels for each test it doesn't look to promising.
I think they did the same thing with the Surefire Socom cans. I get it, they don't want to hurt their sales or their relationship with the manufacturer. It's not like their primary goal is to provide unbiased independent testing, results be damned. Their videos are simply a marketing tool to drive sales.
Yea no criticism of them. That and meter results are kind of pointless, except as a poor substitute to when you can't go hear the cans for yourself.
Very true. It's a single data point in a series of factors that should drive a purchasing decision. Unfortunately, most folks don't get the chance to line up 5 or 6 cans they're interested in to see how they really sound.
I got to hear a bunch when we did the metering and it really changed my thoughts on suppressors, especially centerfire rifle Suppressors.
As someone who has measured it first hand, it's anywhere from 116 to 118.
