Below is the OTE chart showing F-35 availability.
As the report notes, “the F-35A FMC rate of 34 percent was significantly higher than other variants, with the F-35B at 14 percent and the F-35C at 15 percent.
“The average monthly utilization rate measures flight hours per aircraft per month. The utilization rate was 16.5 flight hours, reflecting the stable but low availability rate. The F-35A fleet averaged 18.0 flight hours, while the F-35B and F-35C fleets averaged 14.1 and 15.1, respectively.”

FMC rates really are impacted by maintenance, like active AF units move people around a lot and leave service, navy and marines tend to stay longer
and Guard units have more experience ,why? because when personal come to units, they are full time, and stay until they reach military and civil service retirement age, average age of flight line experience 16-18 years
Not saying pilots playing top gun does not impact with code ratings and over Gs
the bases with the Higher MC rates have had the planes the longest. Edward and Florida the longestBoth test beds, Florida is the only place we AIR to Air in the US
hence all the drones
Hill was the first assigned base that was not Test AC

Yeah, and check's in the mail buddy...
It's been very frustrating to see this weapon system run into more and more delays and cost overruns. Wish they had cut their losses and killed this thing years ago but it was putting too much money in too many pockets.
