Nice rifle! Love the carbine! I have started making inventory cards for mine that document the parts. That way I dont have to keep tearing them apart to remember what the breakdown of each one is.
Had to sell my M1 due to a medical emergency years back. Inherited it 50 years ago. Cherry condition.

I like the light weight and slim stock of an M1 carbine. I think of it as like an AK 47 --good for a couple hundred yards; not super accurate but powerful enough to get the job done.
My older brother has one that he inherited from our father who got it for $25 through a sale in the early 1960s where the DCM was selling off the surplus guns (only to NRA members in good standing.)
