What comes to mind for me is watching the election results when Ronald Reagan won his 1st election.

I was four years old. I didn't know anything about the Japs; and I had never heard of Pearl Harbor. I knew it was bad news, though; because my Mother and Grandmother started crying as soon as the radio made the announcement.
Pretty much exactly how I saw it. The next week we planted a tree. NOLA inner city school, and we planted a tree.
