Here's a neat idea for eliminating "first round pop" from a suppressed weapon.
Have a side-port on the can and a little C02 cannister handy to squirt some of the carbon dioxide into the silencer, reducing the oxygen level low enough to eliminate the pop.

(After you shoot that first shot, the smoke and gas leftover from that shot will make any subsequent shots quieter, if you shoot within a couple of minutes of the first shot.)

Likewise, this C02 oxygen purge system has an effective time period of 5 minutes, they say.

Imagine a silencer with an extra section you screw onto the back end, and this section is actually a double-walled pressure vessel that holds compressed C02 and will release it into the baffles or core of the suppressor, one dose at a time for up to 2 or 3 doses, when you press a button on the side of the can.
You'd get this refilled at your local paintball shop or some other place where they refill tanks with industrial gases. (remember, you need CO2, not compressed air.)

or just keep a can of keyboard cleaner in your range bag and shoot a little of that gas into the can before the first shot.....any neutral non-flammable gas will do.

A lot cheaper and no added weight and length from an extra chamber added to the silencer.

Which end?
