Always interesting to try new techniques. Looks like they came out well.

I definitely suggest boiling to get a darker color. Don't use your wife's pots. For that matter don't do it when she's at home.

My dad and I used the same process to dye the stock of his HK USC from grey to black.

Several years later it still looks good.
