Somewhat new to Georgia and the south, originally from San Diego. Fishing out west is slightly different I've noticed. My house has open land/woods that backs up to the Middle Oconee river and that's all I've fished back here. Pulled out dozens of crappie, bream, red eyed bass and catfish. What else is around though, particularly around Bogart/Athens? All advice welcome!

A bit of a drive, but Hard Labor Creek State Park just opened their reservoir for fishing.

Hard Labor Creek State Park lake has been open for decades (probably since the great depression).

Hard Labor Creek Reservoir just opened. Two different facilities, several miles apart. The Reservoir is pretty good size at 1000 acres.

"Know for fact many 5 to 10 pounder bass have been caught and released at Jefferson lake"

How is the bream and cat fishing there?
