Flashlights.

I can swear to the dependability and quality of these lanterns.
have several. you can get these at Target same as I did.
you will have to look hard for them as they usually aren't with the rest
of the flashlights. even the employees don't know they have these things
so look good. they work. great battery life. good light too.
the older ones are water tight and float. I have the older version but hear
these ones in the link blow the old guys away. these things are perfect and
about the size of a coke can.

I have a few of the older models. I wonder if its worth switching the to LED via the
kits or should I go buy the newer versions.
I looked into the kits a while back, & dollar/lumen it made more sense to get a whole new flashlight. If you look around a bit you might find a special offer at Home Depot or else where. I got some of these at HD on sale for $20 once & $14 later. I use eneloop AA batteries with "C" sleeves:

Edit: wrong link first time

I just don't have the time to recharge these style lights every day or twice a day
as I have in the past just for work. SOL on recharging when the power goes out.
I agree with your point! All my weapon lights take cr123's so I'll use them if the power goes out, have a decent supply. I probably have too many flashlights lol.

I love LED technology for flashlights.
Especially the ones that have a high power - low power setting.
BUT, the bad thing about LED flashlights is that they're electronic gadgets with circuit boards.
If you drop one, or even bump it, while it's "on" you will momentarily break the circuit and shut it off.
Then you have to find it (in the dark) and manually turn it on again.
At least that's how all the ones were that I've ever owned.

I want one that, once you turn the switch to the "ON" position, it will only stop lighting when the circuit is opened (a wire or battery terminal connection got loose) but will resume "ON" and light up again when the contact is re-established.

these rock too. I have several in crazy locations.
ive dropped these lights on the bulb on purpose
to show their durability and several times by accident.
never once broke the bulb.
did see a big chip out of the bulb once, but it worked yet.

I have one that received major damage and still worked.
I still have the light after all these yrs but stopped using it for fear
of losing it. i'll try to dig it up for a pic. you guys will freak lol.

heres the light.
