Fly fishing is an affliction that I hope I can never recover …
I will have to break mine out for pictures one of these days. I have 8 or 9 if I remember correctly, but who knows might have forgotten a few.
One of these days, I am going to catalog my Dad's rods and reels, while he is still alive. As a custom builder and split bamboo restorer for over 50 years, he probably has around 150 rods. He also has a very impressive collection of reels, including six Bogdans, who he was friends with.
A parabolic 15 bamboo Paul Young clone and a old orvis reel. ( sent this pic to my buddies to make the jealous last year lol)
Im a relatively new fly fisherman, but here are a couple.
Cabelas Bighorn 8wt combo
Echo Boost Salt 9wt rod paired with an 8/10 Ion reel. This setup is primarily for King Salmon, (holy crap, what a workout!) but I tend to cast streamers with both setups at inland lakes and the Au Sable River most of the time. One day I’ll catch a giant smallmouth bass or that 30” Northern Pike.
My best Northern Pike to date is a 26 inch fish (last pic) The Smallie below was released unharmed.
