? for all the armed forces vets .

I was in the Navy Jan 1991 to Jun 2000 was getting way to many offers that paid way better and was tired of being deployed all the time. I am now deployed to Afghanistan as a contractor and about ready to hang that up as well money is good but not worth being away from the family all the time.

Lets just that I was forced out I went in and 78 got out in 83 and I, grew up in Forsyth County and my first sergeant was a man of color and let's just say he knew about where I grew up. He even stated that back to me.

Medically discharged. Fought it for 2 years, but lost out. Did 7 1/2 years and two wars, and enjoyed every minute that I wore that uniform.

Five (5) PH's and a 100% disibility...Some body yelled "Duck", I thought they yelled "F***" and stood up

Hahaha..... Thats a good story right there.

I personally would like to thank everyone on here for your service. I regret every day that I was not able to serve my country. I was in a bad car accident when I was 18 and broke my hip and many other bones, even tried to lie about it when I was 22 to get in the marines. Had a ship date and everything then at MEPs they saw a surgery scar I tried to hide with my watch.... was turned down. This was a dream of mine. Still is at 34.

I got out early discharge (honorable) because the USAF found themselves overmanned. If you could prove you were going back to college, they would let you out up to a year early. As it was I got out 6 months early. The service was great for me...went in as a kid came out a man. I was part of Apollo support while we were trying to put a man on the moon. We succeeded! I went to basic in San Antonio, then 8 months of electronics school in Denver then the remainder of my time at Patrick AFB in Florida. All this during a time when guys were coming home in boxes from Nam. There is a considerable amount of guilt there for me. But who knew where you would wind up when you enlisted? I tried to talk my son into enlisting. He wouldn't buy it. Truly his loss.

Never regret, as long as you led a good life, being shot at was no piece of cake. I'm going to the wall in April, never been before to read the names of 9 good friends aloud from my Company, one whom was a MOH holder, serving is no biggie, but supporting them is, my God Son is on his 11th tour in Afghanistan, we are burning out a generation of Americans. Thanks for your support..
