So in layman terms, the wipes that came with my Ghost are illegal to own now?

Yes. I saw a note from them that said they were working on a longer term solution like a smaller end cap or more durable wipe

Whats stopping any Ghost owner from making their own wipes? If all it is is a rubber washer? Who is going to come up to a guy, tell them hey you're running a Ghost suppressor open it up so we can look inside.

Not sure why this is a surprise.... wipes have been ruled as 'parts' for decades. That's one of the reasons you don't generally see cans using them anymore.

Thats a good question. I am going to guess, if when you bought your Ghost, you received wipes, those are good to go. Any wipes obtained outside your original purchase are not. Thats only a guess. I am no lawyer and am wrong 73.2% of the time.
