Ford F-250 Help

Look up powerstroke help's videos on YouTube. I bought a cheap 6.0 truck expecting it to need work. Their videos are informative and somewhat entertaining. When my egr cooler blew I took it over to their shop in buford. It was not cheap but the work was done well.

7.3 nice clean truck ive seen it. Dont let the miles scare you there are forums with tons of 7.3's with 1,000,000 miles just take care of it

I've looked at that one a few times. I'm holding out for white or charcoal on this next truck. I'm going to try to keep this one on the road as long as possible since i am about to be picking up the wife and baby a new suv but eventually i know this trucks got to go. 74341_446424738299_500148299_5375028_2095738_n.jpg30236_394039343299_500148299_4135990_7457500_n.jpg

Beware, the '03 was a mid-year conversion to the 6.0L. I purchased my '01 F350 w/7.3L in Fall 2008 with 151k miles. Not a daily driver at the moment, only issue was a broken fuel line...apparently it was plastic and just got old. Taken care of, the 7.3 can go 500k+ miles with ease.

If you know what your doing then the 6.0 is a great truck. If not then you will prob regret it later. The 6.0 can be a great truck you just have to do some stuff to it. Egr delete, coolant flush/filter, and dont tune it. It will last a good long while if you drive it well. If you want to tune it, its going to need much more attention. Ive had 3 now, only killed the first one because I didnt know better. Bought the hottest tune I could find and drove it hard, that didnt last long.

Also with these trucks you will need to be ready for a much greater maintenance cost. 17 quart oil changes just to start. Leaking this and cracked that. It gets expensive and requires greater attention to keep it running well.

With that saif I love the 6.0 but would really like to get a 6.4 or even a 6.7 if I had the need for a truck that big.

Stay away from 6.0 unless they have had egr delete and longer head bolts installed

I bet you ment head studs. And those arent a requirement but a very good to have. Egr is pretty much a must though.

The root cause of most of the 6.0 problems is clogging coolant due to sand andother debris clogging coolant passages which eventually cause egr failures. That causes coolant to get into the engine which will lift the heads.

I might sell you an 03 7.3 but be warned I am attached to it. 03 170k trouble free miles.
