Ford Tremor vs Chevy ZR2 HD

One of the biggest mistakes of my life was trading my 2017 F350 Powerstroke for a 2021 Tundra and I'm looking to get back into a HD pickup ASAP.
My wife and I test drove a Super Duty Tremor with the 7.3 gas as well as the 2500 ZR2 with the 6.6 gas.
I've never been in a gas HD truck that pulled like that 7.3 Godzilla. Very impressed with that truck. The flip side is that I've never ridden in a HD truck that rode as nice as that ZR2.

Anyone in here own either of these trucks? What's your opinion on them?
Junk

I suspect Ford will be slightly less money. Also Ford’s the only one of the big three that didn’t take our taxpayers bailout-billions in 2008 2009.
Because ford was already on the verge of bankruptcy years before the others ...think 6.0-6-4 and 4.6-5.4 junk they were building.

they got loans because of Allen Mulaley (who turned boeing around) got hired by ford..

That particular Ford is slightly cheaper because it's a XLT. It wasn't an apples to apples comparison. If you compared trucks that were more similarly optioned the prices would be closer.

Well if it was me, I'd look for an older truck. Now that said, I do like that 7.3L big block. I've been driving a Ford big block for 31yrs and counting. The same truck. These new trucks just aren't what the older ones are. Ask Wildbill about his GM. He'll give you an ear full of bad news.

Yeah, I saw that thread and read most of it. One thing that stood out to me the most was Plumminfool having so many transmission issues with only 44k miles.

If it’s the 10 speed tranny then it’s the same model used by GM and Ford. It had a lot of problems and was developed jointly by Ford and GM. Which sort of shine a light on the issue with their current run of junk. The number of recalls on the Ford mavericks we have at work is unreal. Touch screen and radio and NAV system lock up constantly and just randomly reboots. One blown motor and both front cv axles replaced at 25k and 50k. Only took 6 weeks at the dealership to get the CV axles in hand and installed….

I won’t buy another new vehicle in my lifetime. You can get a better return on investment in Vegas.

True statement! From my 2020 Chevy that stayed in the shop most of his life I am still out about $14,000 that I never could recover from Chevrolet 3 1/2 month rental of rental car while it’s in the shop! Every time you check the oil, it was not even showing up on the stick!
Someone should burn Chevy to the ground

I was just at the gas station with my 94. Guy pulls up in a 86 F350 dually. We talked a while about these new junk trucks........Now that E4OD tranny ain't the best, but it's better than the new ones, I think. The 86 I had never had any trans problems. And I backed my boat up a steep driveway. Every time I did, my mechanic best friend grit his teeth. He said one of these days it was goin to let go, but it never did.
