Foreign Weapons and Obscure Builds

Gotcha. I’ve always kinda known that the Chinese SKS’s were kinda the bottom tier or entry level price wise. Then the Yugo’s being about mid level and the Russian ones being regarded as the top level or highest priced ones.

Paid about 500.00 for a Like new unfired matching Russian SKS a year and 1/2 ago.

So just something to ponder but do you think the SKS's will always be in the shadow of their big brother AK's as far as pricing goes?

Obviously there would be exceptions but in general terms?

I would think they would generally stay lower as they both creep up.

Little secret - I like the Chinese SKS types better than the Yugo. The Chinese rifles have chrome lined barrels (yep, still shoot corrosive x39) and the early ones were manufactured on Soviet tooling under Soviet supervision. The earliest type 56 carbines have Cyrillic characters in their serial numbers IIRC.
Also FYI, Chinese SKS with blade bayonets are 1965 and earlier production. I prefer the cruciform type because it's lighter.
Yep, I agree. Plus it would leave me just with the Hungarian, and I have a ton of mags lol...
I'll take em lol

I always got a chuckle out of neckbeards trying to trade a bubba'ed SKS for an import AK

It is pretty. I hog hunted with a beater SKS I got at a pawn shop for like $200 years ago. My cousin had it now. It had that ugly polymer stock and was converted to take that funny looking AK type mag with that tang on it. Was missing the pig sticker on it. But shot true and was never an issue for me. Just a tad heavy after 5-6 hours in the woods. But my country cousin loved it so I let him have it. It’s semi auto and he had only shot bolt or lever up til that point of my paw paws guns.
