They are new productuon mags with plastuc followers. I have 10 and will buy more, when I can. Gunmagwarehouse has them for $13 a piece.
Mag body weighs the same as old school mags, so thickness is the same.

Kerosene for the thick stuff. Take them apart and throw them in the old kerosene bucket

Wd40 also works as a solvent, but it will evaporate. Light coat of oil inside is helpful

I put mine in a Rubbermaid and used a blow dryer on high and it poured out like a black river
