I didn't get the Saiga finished like I had planned but I did finish the furniture. After an acetone bath, sanding and several applications of wood bleach I couldn't get all the old color out of the lower. Appears to have been refinished at some point with a commercial stain. The time I had to work on it was spent cleaning up the conversion parts and fitting the wood. Still more cleaning and degreasing to do before the paint, hopefully this weekend.
