Free knife! Real/fake?

A buddy of mine had some random drunk guy outside a bar give him a knife a while back. He is wondering if it’s a real benchmade. Pics below.

Pretty sure it's not. I don't think they ever even made a wood handle otf. Plenty of super heavy Chinese copies though.

I bet Benchmade will let you know if you mail it in!

Craftsmanship doesn't look up to par with Benchmade but in truth I don't know much about otf knives. I bought 2 fake CS Recons off ebay, sent one to CS who confirmed it was their unfinished parts slapped together. They gave me a 50% discount on a new knife and sent the fake back to me

I got a few promo Chinese knives for charity if anybody is really that hard up for a blade lol....
