This reminds me of at 18 I got a job at a shop mig welding. I had only done stick with steel. My job was just to tack pieces for a fitter then a welder would weld them up. Well after I week the main welder laid out. They had a contract for aluminum ladders for a new GM plant that was do. You guessed it they pulled me off to weld them up with no experience or training on aluminum. My welds looked like **** but I climbed every rung and they held up. Yep fired me at the end of the day. I haven’t used a mig since.
