French Style ISIS Attack, in Georgia?

Who among you responders to the terrorist are military, LEO, or x-military??
Who among you non-responders to the terrorist are military, LEO, or x-military??
Just curious.

I'm not military. I got hurt real bad and couldn't sign up like I was planning to. By the time I could pass a physical that window had passed. I've had 17 years of combat martial arts training, however.

I evidentlyknow enough modern army combatitves to get my ass kicked in a bar fight lol

Buddy of mine had the same problem, seemed many of the times he got drunk he got whipped. Problem was it really want his fault... Several long stories. LOL
lol thats what they told us in training, dont think you have skills after a week long crash ckurse lmfao

My child is more important than myself, and I can't help but wonder what he will think of me if I turn tail and run when I could have done something about it. What is security, anyway? Good men will do what is right, if and when they can, no matter the consequences. This is the problem with our country today. I would rather my son grow up knowing what a man is and is not, know that his father was a deliberate man of resolution who died for a great cause, than to live and have my son think of his father as a coward and a man who bowed down to a bunch of thugs who wish to rid the world of freedom...And they do , you know. These Islamists are a bunch of animals. Look back at history throughout many countries and take a look at their resolve. Islamists are not religious. They are extreme psychopathic murderers doing whatever they can to get a foothold in this country. Am I an extremist for believing this? Well, you may look at how many other countries have dealt with them in the past (funny how many only look at American history) or you may look into the future and say only time will tell. There are plenty of ex-Islamists over here right now warning us of this plague and the tyrannical ways to their means. They are everything America is not supposed to be. Tolerance? How about Sharia law for tolerance? They wish it to be the laws of our land. Why hasn't each and every state outlawed Sharia law? This is what we are facing in America today, believe it or not. It is the truth and hard to swallow. Sorry, I got sidetracked....

If you believe you are the only man on this forum who has defended people with a firearm, you must be delirious. We're not all a bunch of internet commandos looking for attention. Most of the folks here really don't give a **** if you're a hero or anything else. There are civilians out here who will stack up against any military person in any scenario. Don't fool yourself.

That's a romantic theory, but I respectfully disagree. Unless you're a civilian with extensive prior military or law-enforcement training for specific combat scenarios, you will NOT stack up very well. You may get a lucky shot off, but that does not mean you will get out of the situation alive. Properly trained military and law enforcement personnel are a little more sophisticated than the average citizen or some local hick militia group. It would be the equivalent of thinking you're a great Texas hold 'em player because you win regularly against the computer (with fake house money). See what kind of balls you have sitting at a table with a couple of professionals and ALL of your real money vs. all of their's. These radical terrorist types are ALL IN all the time. They don't care about dying (losing everything), and even kind of expect it. The average citizen does not have that same mindset.

OK, without reading thru it all.. I'd do standard risk assessment. Duty is implied, but but doing something with no chance of success is dumb. If the situation and my assets indicate a high level of success, mission is a go. If say, a second bird goes down and I fall below minimum criteria to engage.. Don't engage.. Pop smoke, give grid and exfil

As for an untrained civilian.. Bravery is not solely the domain of the highly trained. But don't be fooled, you don't know what you don't know. There's more than just understanding the mechanics. Years of training gives you economy of movement and instincts.. You can't get that from a book or YouTube. I see guys doing sexy target shooting that I certainly would pale in comparison... But, I wonder how fast their hearts would be pounding going into a blacked out room weapons hot with a bad guy waiting for you.. And how they'd know the techniques and what corners to take first.. Those little things can be the difference and that takes years and years to understand. We don't send accountants to do a grab, we send in a tier 1..just as we don't have CAG do our taxes.. Skills and knowing the system wins the day. .. Not Rambo
