Item Description: 1978 Marlin 1894 44 magnum. It is pre cross bolt safety and JM stamped. I really like the patina on this rifle. As you can see the bluing is thin in some places and the walnut stock has a few love marks on it. It looks exactly like a 42 year old Marlin that has harvested a few hogs and whitetail should look. The rear sight has been replaced with a Lyman sight and the hood has been removed from the front sight. The Lyman sight provides a better sight picture than the original - if you want the original they are available from several sources online. Otherwise it is all original.
Yes, $650 is the price of a new 1894, but I would choose a JM stamped one without the cross bolt safety over a new Remington Marlin any day of the week.
I can include 150 rounds of 44 mag new brass 240 grain semi wad cutter for an additional $100.
Meet in or near Sandy Springs.

I have the same, exact rifle. Maybe I should go look in the safe to see if mine is still there! Looks as if they could be twins. Have taken more deer with that rifle than any other that I own. Made back when Marlin produced a quality firearm. Those without the JM stamp are nowhere near the same quality.

I completely agree.
