If they are all the same rounds you could weigh 100 of them and then weigh the entire lot and the ratio of weight to rounds would give a very good estimate of total rounds.
By example if 100 weigh 5 lbs and all of them weigh 80 lbs then you know there are around 1600 rounds.
The more accurate scale, the more accurate your estimate of rounds will be.
