You can dry fire this gun and many others, in my opinion, though some designs are more inclined to present failure or mechanical breakage later on.
Usually, the guns that are mostly affected by this are rimfires, as the pin may strike somewhere unsavory due to the nature of being made to hit the Tim of the cartridge. I don't think most modern center fires are affected that much, although it never hurts to be safe.

Yes, you are correct. As well as some older striker fired guns. I find it funny how some guns stores ask you not to dry fire there guns, despite the trigger being one of the most important decision factors in buying a gun .
