Item Description: Took this gun on trade a few months back, never fired it myself until this weekend. Gun fires but will not cycle correctly and jams. Gun is in very used condition and can see most of the defects in pictures. Selling or trading gun AS IS. I am not sure what is wrong with it and I do not have the ability, myself, to fix it. Comes with DNZ rings and 38 rounds of 155gr Browning ammo. Feel free to ask more questions if you have any. Open to all firearms trades

By the looks of the bottom of the gas system the barrel is bent to one side . The gas piston is offset to one side when seated . That would explain the damage to outside of gun
 
Can’t guess what the actual problem is, but it looks like someone got frustrated, and may have used a hammer while putting it together. I have owned the baby brother rifle to the R1, the MR1 in 223. They are tricky, but easy to take apart and put together if done correctly.

The gun is built very solidly. If you can take it apart and reassemble it properly, it may work fine. I believe the entire barrel assembly will pull off of the action with the removal of the retaining nut located above the spring, when the gun is pointed upward.
