Item Description: Rare Marlin model 99M2. Rifle is complete with hard to find original rear sight. Has original sling swivel studs and a vintage leather sling. I picked this up in trade since I had the original missing parts in hand from another broken model 99 that had a broke stock.
Pros: rifle functions without a hiccup.
Cons: anybody familiar with these rifles know the stock is prone to crack at the wrist. When I picked it up it had the typical crack and epoxy repair. The repair and crack was visible. I took the stock and drilled from the inside where it’s not visible and added a threaded rod and expiry for strength. This is the proper way to repair one. The stock was then refinished and most of the crack line is it visible. When it comes to these stocks there are two types, those that have broke, and that have not broke yet. The repair will last a lifetime. Model 99 came with a walnut stock.
Original picks will be in comments before refinish.
Can be added with other guns I have listed here
