Item Description: Up for sale is a vintage Remington Model 11-48 12ga, 25" vent rib barrel, with a factory installed Poly-Choke, made in Jan 1954. The finish is well over 90% in all areas; bluing, metal, internals, bore, & wood. She cycles flawlessly and her extreme reliability & simplicity is a clear testament to Mr John Moses Browning's genius. If you find another 11-48 in better condition, you should buy it immediately, no matter the cost. My dad acquired her from the original owner shortly before he passed (along with several other antique shotguns) and gave it to me a few years ago.
For those who aren't familiar, the 11-48 was the post-WWII redesign of the Model 11 (a license built Browning A5). Unlike the Model 11/A5, the 11-48 had self-adjusting friction rings so all types of loads can be fired without adjustment. It also featured interchangeable parts, a removable trigger housing, & design lines that can be seen on every Remington shotgun since (870, 887, 1100, 11-87, etc). No Remington shotgun collection is complete without an 11-48.
