They are removable for transport or use in small spaces, made by SawTrax to increase width for materials handling. Traded for this a few years ago on ODT, don't have a need for it anymore. Awesome for cutting plywood, siding sheets, sign materials, etc. Makes perfectly straight and square cuts. These are crazy expensive new, we'll over $1,000.00....
