Item Description: This is a 2007 JD X304 with only 162 hours on the clock. The X304 has four wheel steering and turns very tightly for easy mowing around obstacles. It has a two cylinder OHV Kawasaki engine developing 17 HP; and the Twin Touch transmission controls. The 42" mowing deck has dual blades. I just installed new blades; and they have never been used to cut anything. The mower has the optional equipment grass chute with twin bags for catching grass cuttings and fallen leaves. It also comes with the mulching cover for the discharge chute if you don't want to catch and bag. The cutting deck has a hose adaptor installed for easy cleanup of grass clippings from beneath the deck at the end of your mowing day.
The tractor has always been well maintained; and has no known mechanical problems. It has never slept outside. The closeup of the seat will reveal one shortcoming that is common to John Deere lawn tractors. The seat covering they use is subject to cracking. Mine is no exception. I chose to cover the cracks with duct tape rather than spend over $100 on a new seat, only to watch it crack again.
I bought this tractor because I was diagnosed with COPD and could no longer cope with a walk behind mower. Well, the COPD has progressed over the years; and now I can't cope with the yard even with this rider. I have hired a lawn service; so it is time for this to find a new home. Don't mistake this setup for the typical Home Depot John Deere. This package was just over 4 grand when originally purchased.
