Item Description: Selling a Mannlicher M95/30s. Many of these were used in WW1 by the Austro-Hungarian Army, and were retained for use by the Austrian and Hungarian Armies after WW1. Before WW2, most were converted to 8x56R and many rifles were cut down to carbine length.
The rifle is a straight pull - pulling the bolt back rotates the bolt lugs automatically, so no up-down motion is required, just back-forth.
Based on my research, I'd guess this rifle was refurbed in Hungary after WW2. The numbers have been force matched on the stock, receiver, and barrel. The metal parts were refinished and there is a minor repair on the stock. Overall, the rifle is in beautiful condition with a good bore.
Just tore the rifle down, cleaned off the old cosmoline, and lightly oiled it. Not much left to clean - it's ready for the safe, display, or the range after having the rifle checked by a gunsmith (always a good idea).
One thing: During the refurb, they added a fake Nazi stamp to the buttstock and waffenamts on the receiver. Although relatively unnoticeable, they are there, and they are fake.
