Item Description: This one really hurts to do, but I’m trying to generate a solid deposit for a motorcycle, so some of my inventory has to go.

For sale here is a nearly all original, damn-near collector grade M1 Garand.
In excellent condition.
Rifling is strong and pronounced.
Throat and muzzle erosion are extremely minimal for a rifle of this era. Can and will send pictures of measurements if need be.
Shoots reliably and is a real tack driver. Not a single issue with it using modern, specific loads for M1 garand.
Usually PPU ammo used loaded specifically for M1 Garand. Although other M1 loads by other manufacturers run well also.
I HAVE fired this gun on a number of occasions, even recently, and it DOES fire safely and accurately without issue.
Great trigger for a gun of this age and type and very strong firing pin.
It is very clean. Lubricated correctly with grease and well-preserved and maintained. Kept safely in padded case in climate controlled safe. This really is a safe queen, but will shoot with the best of them.
Specs:
DOES HAVE THE BIG 3: Springfield Barrel, Bolt and Receiver. All 1943 and 1944.
Receiver #22204- - Springfield, November, 1943
Barrel: 3-SA - 3-44 Springfield, March 1944
Bolt: #D 28287-12SA S-B10 diamond June/1943-to-October 1943 indicating higher quality 8620 steel was used in manufacture at the time.
Cartouch is barely visible on its original stock, but “SA G.A.W.” Is visible and period correct. Does have Circle P proof mark behind trigger and very faint original cross cannons behind cartouche.
Stock has expected dings, dents, scratches and scrapes, but it is the original stock. Fits snugly and securely with no major chips or gouges.
Sight assembly has original trench modification made to it (diagonal cut), which our boys used to do to keep the front sight assembly nice and tight. This is rare, but not unheard of. Adds collectible value to the rifle.
Trigger Guard— period correct for this rifle. Type 1G Manuf. Dec/1941-to-July 1944. Small “T” below trigger.
Hammer—period correct. 5 SA Type 2D June 1943-to-August/1944
Trigger Housing—Period Correct Springfield #D28290–12–SA Type 8
Trigger: Period Correct w/punch mark and no other markings. Type 2 November 1944
Gas Cylinder Lock: Period Correct. Type 1 July 1940-to-March 1945
I have done a full and complete inventory on this rifle using old ordinance department records. I have looked at every piece. the ONLY things on this beauty that are not original is the cut in the OP-rod, which was a modification made to these rifles late in the war and after the war to reduce stress fractures (so they say, which makes this an even more reliable shooter for a 75 year old gun) and the rear sights are not period correct lock-bar sights. Other than that, this is a genuine, unmolested, non-bubba, real-deal war horse.
Every single other component on this old battle implement IS period correct for a 1944 Springfield M1 Garand.
Comes with a sling and I can throw in two enbloc clips.
WARNING: THIS IS AN ORIGINAL, MILSURP, WWII gun. DO NOT—and I cannot stress this enough—DO NOT try to run modern .30-06 or .308 loads through this gorgeous piece of freedom-giving legend. If you do, it will explode in your face, hopefully killing you so you can’t breed. This will safely and reliably fire for you until long after we’re all gone if you hand-load for M1 Garand, use M1 Garand Milsurp Ammo, OR, buy modern manufactured .30-06 LOADED SPECIFICALLY FOR M1 Garand. The box will say it. There is no mistaking. Nearly every manufacturer is doing this now, so there is no need to seek out original, dirty, unreliable ball Ammo from the 40s and 50s. There just isn’t.
If you buy this and ruin it, the souls of the men who fought bravely in WWII will haunt you and skin you alive.
