Are you allowed legally to sell a federal migratory bird? just asking

It's legal to shoot them during their season, I don't see why it would be illegal to sell it. I think when we took it to taxidermist, they would have said something about it. A friend had an owl that died after it flew into his car. He took it to be mounted and was yold they couldn't do it because it was a federally protected bird. But I will look into it to check, but until I find out otherwise, it will continue to try to sell it. Thank you for your concern.
