Have you tried looking for a safety. The one on my m&p is removable so I would assume you can find one.

If you send it to Smith and Wesson they will probably install one free. Their customer service has been great for everyone I know that has used it. It is the same gun just add the ambi safety.

You could probably buy the safety and install it yourself.
