FT Looking to see if there is any integrity left here?

I'm staying out of the ar market all together right now, but it is what it is, and I won't pretend it isn't. If anyone wants one of my AR's, lowers, or mags I'm going to expect going rate. Those of us old enough to remember Cabbage Patch Kids, original Power Rangers, it was Zhu Zhu pets and few years ago, every video game system the first Christmas it's out, this is the textbook definition of supply and demand in a free market economy. Everything is worth what someone will pay. I'm a Republican voter with a Libertarian heart and this is at the core of my beliefs. I think it's crap, so I'm not playing, but you can't expect me to ignore the rules of the game because you don't like them.

I wouldn't trade my 1911, for a lower and 10 pmags, but I wouldn't expect you to give me 10 lowers for it right now, so it'll just stay on my hip.

Do you remember when people paid upwards of $25,000 for a Mazda Miata it's first year?
I am going to steer clear of it as well I think. You are right my friend.

Well I am going to end with this. Thank you all for adding your thoughts to this post, and yes my point has been made. Troy9749 stated why trade with me when he can make enough money on gunbroker by selling "a" stripped lower (meaning 1) or 10 Pmags. The answer to this is simple, we all gather here for a common interest which is firearms and our right to keep them, and the right to keep the government away from them. I am not here to make money, or take advantage of anyone's need. I am here to trade with people and buy and sell with people who have the same passion that I do. I have made some trades and bought and sold with members here, and I have met some great people. When I trade it is to get something new and finding someone who is in the same situation it has never been about making money. For whatever reason, because of the scare recently it has become all about the money everywhere I turn, in our favorite local gunshops and pawn shops to all over the internet. I am disappointed in this, that things can take such a rapid decline even in an environment that was created for people with a passion, and a strong belief in the right to protect our lives and families this post was not meant to hurt any feeling. It was meant to hopefully help us not to lose sight why we are here. I am not looking to trade that is correct Galvatron. I was doing nothing more than making an attempt to keep something I enjoy away from the darkside. Thank you all for listening.

I rarely get involved in things like this, but I have to say a few things about your little demonstration.

First, I agree this has turned into a nice community of enthusiasts with a shared interest in firearms. Typically we all "lean" in a similar direction politically as well. I'm quite sure that with the exception of Okuma Steve, no one who participates on this site makes a great deal of money buying, selling and trading firearms here. I do my fair share of all three, and I can tell you on some deals you do OK, on others you take it in the shorts. It all works out and I don't mind because I enjoy buying, selling and trading as a hobby.

What I do find disturbing about your experiment is the negative connotation associated with the free market running its course. Our capitalist system may not be perfect, but it's been responsible for building a great country and allowing millions of US citizens to live a fantastic lifestyle as compared to most inhabitants of this planet.

I for one do not think any person participating in free market capitalism has no integrity. They are simply a capitalist, and thus, American. Misrepresenting an item or otherwise trying to pull the wool over someone's eyes shows a lack of integrity. Making a buck in this country is a good thing - if done honestly, and there's absolutely nothing dishonest about adjusting prices upward when there is great demand for a particular product or service.

I'm not selling ARs or Pmags or ammo. I'll keep what I have thank you, and even though current events are remarkable (and tragic in their beginning) this is simply the free market at work in the USA. And how can that be considered heading to the "darkside"?

I would suggest to you that it's about as American as it gets.

I agree entirely and will only add that when free market forces and enterprise are restricted, and we lose private proprty right, then we are into the "dark side". Sadly the left is nudging us there a bit more each day.

You Sir have hit the nail squarely on the head. It is more than a little disappointing to see the total and complete lack of respect and understanding of our capitalistic system.

Again, Well Said.

I just sold all of my pmags to the guys I work with for what I paid for them at Midway USA last year. $17.50 plus postage...To sell them at a profit after buying them without that intention, defines one soul. Just my humble opinion. LOL keep your nouns, pronouns and adjectives to yourselves. The truth is what it is.

That's a load of crap...

Sell me your house at what you bought it for in 1958...

ANYONE who owns something, that for WHATEVER reason appreciates substantially, is more than entitled to the financial gain.

Move this trash to the forum. I don't agree with the way things are going in the market, but I don't take a classified ad to get on my soapbox. Thanks for wasting our time!
