GA CC law regarding 19 yr old & active military

Davis211: the Code section he should print out or at least memorize the citation of is: 16-11-130.
That's where various kinds of govt agents and employees get an exemption from some, but not all, of Georgia's gun carry laws.

And he should go down to the Probate Court and also apply for a GWL, since he appears to be eligible for that, too. (He is eithera GA resident or has a duty assignment in GA, right?)

Thanks for the data. The Probate Judge is a good friend of ours. Son is a GA resident but stationed in CA for MOS.

Thats great and horrible at the same time. He should be good to go, but I would definitely carry the print out. Tell the young Soldier we thank him for his service. What is his mos?

[QUOTE="Atlanta, post: 6560333, member: 33001" Unless exempted you need a Georgia Weapons Carry License to carry a handgun concealed or open.[/QUOTE]

Not exactly true, if you are referring to O.C.G.A. § 16-11-130, "exemptions"

There are several circumstances where one can carry a handgun without a GWCL, not mentioned in this stature.
