Garand Scout?

Yep-

I don't like the lines of the scout M1a either, but man-if you shoulder one, you will instantly appreciate its virtues. Target acquisition is incredibly fast, and you don't lose all your peripheral vision.

-Ugly, but very nice way to shoot.

I am definitely thinking about it. I wonder what sort of scope would be good on one. You need a lot of eye relief.

Look at some of the scout scopes availible. Just about everyone makes long eye relief scout scopes now. Burris, Leopold, etc. Just depends on what you want to spend...

One thing the Grand has going for it is how long you can get to the ground over most other options other there, and with a little practice you can keep up a good rate of aimed fire, besides, whether in 30-06 or .308 it is nothing to sneer at. And if you do run out of ammo, well few thing buttstoke like a Garand.
