I bought this upper and didn’t realize it came with a .70 gas port hole. Would I run into in issues if I get a gunsmith to open up to a .750 so I can run steel cases ammo or weak 223 brass ? I already tried different buffers to see if I could make it run 233 but no luck

I've opened up undersized gas ports in the past.

.070 on a 10.3 is optimal if you want to shoot suppressed, so not optimal for you.

.075 will not be an issue. Daniel Defense 10.3 comes in with a .083

I see the undersized gas port on the 10.3 a lot because "milspec" is .070 or .071. The problem is "milspec" in that barrel length is intended to have a can hanging off the end of it. At least that is my thoughts.

Contact cmshoot cmshoot . He'll get you running.

Kinda late but I’m also having questions with this, what would be a good gas port size for non suppressed? I’m wanting to run both and shoot steel/brass but not sure if I’ll run into issues
