gen 1 LWRC m6a2 suppression

I have a m6a2 piston upper with non-adjustable gas block...16" barrel. can I suppress this without tearing up the piston/cup? thanks guys.

I don't see why it would hurt it. I always thought the adjustable gas block was to help with overgassing and getting it in the face

I got away from piston AR’s quite a while ago, so I don’t have any experience with this set up.

I do know that since the piston set up vents excess gas to the outside, it will be louder than a comparable DI setup when suppressed. Depending upon a lot of factors, 5-15dB increase over a DI gun.

My best guess would be that piston damage won’t be an issue with a 16” barrel.

If you like the barrel profile, you could convert it to DI.

If it’s non adjustable then you are over gassing it . All piston guns sound like crap generally due to holes which are required for venting.

Put simply that gas leaking out is the sound . You need the sound inside . DI always sounds better but even those suffer the same problem of back pressure and over gassing .

my LMT vents the gas from the carrier and the charging handle but by the time it reaches that it’s cooled off . On a piston gun that’s fresh hot gas which is the loudest

but will it damage the piston system? can will mainly live on an 11.5" bcm upper...but ill def buy an xtra mount for this rifle if im not gonna eff it up.
