I would like to see one example where a military person was killed while fighting for the US Constitution since WWII.

The military sacrifices that have been made since the end WWII have all been in vain and had nothing to do with the US Constitution.

Forgive my heated post, coming from a military background I tend to get royally pissed when someone says our rights aren't guaranteed, our military pays for our rights with their lives. If we roll over and die on this issue, then the sacrifices made have been in vain.

I would certainly have to agree with that, We have concerned citizens who are trying to sort things out(yeah right), You have radical's getting a little out of hand(probably be the one's saving everyone's ass) and you have the liberal's that don't see anything and think everything is fine(No peaceful answer for them) Yep you are right no adults here, Just a bunch of crazies with gun's.

There is no comparison,and its foolish to even pretend there is any,but there is no comparisons to the tyranny of living under the rule of a king and/or what the freedoms we now enjoy.

And if you are going to quote the 2nd Amendment go back and at least REAd it all..You left out a very important part.

"In order to maintain a well regulated militia"..."The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed"

The first part of that just may be the most important part as some/many people believe that a State national gaurd fills the intent of a local peoples militia.

Thank god there is at least one voice of reason on this thread. This scare talk and demonization of Americans who want to debate how best to keep their kids safe and violence down is over the top. Nothing has happened and given the reality of politics, very little is likely to happen. No one is over turning the 2d amendment and there is no realistic prospect of that happening. And what about the other Amendments??? The 1st perhaps where everyone has a rational debate? The parts where the government actually works for the common welfare (military, social security, Medicare, roads, bridges, fighting crime, regulating businesses). I hear a lot of anger at the government, and often it may well be justified. But it is not the source of all our problems. And we have the power to vote them out.
