Anyway we can start a sticky that lists deer processors here in Georgia? I'm loyal to a few near where I hunt but don't have a clue of any good ones that are near Ellijay for instance. If I shoot a deer at my in laws place in Ellijay I wouldn't have a clue where a good place to take it would be.

MR Butcher - Between, GA (Walton County) 770-267-7523

This is my first year hunting. How much does it usually cost to have a deer processed? I am in Burke County. Also, any recommendations (and ball park cost) to have a head mounted?
It's gonna depend but my processor charges $75 for a standard cut and charges extra for sausage and specialty orders. It's been a few years since I've had one mounted but I think I paid $350. I think most taxidermists charge more than that.

Southers deer cooler in murrayville.
You get YOUR deer.....most processors scramble them all together.
Awesome guys to deal with.
The also hang the deer to bleed out and let the good
enzymes build up in the meat before cutting.
They use vacuum packaging.
They charge about $90.00 bits it’s worth a little extra not to share someone else’s road kill.
Gut fee is extra $15.00.
Been using them for years and was happy to finally find a deer cooler that actually gives
you only your deer.
You take a
small deer you get a small sack of meat/ big deer lots of meat.

I used that place off of 369 by that very popular superette and they had about 30 deer piled into a non refrigerated room floor - it smelled awful.
I took a small buck and I got a
massive box of meat wrapped in styrofoam trays and plastic wrap on top.
They gave me two nasty old
freezer burned lengths of
backstrap.
It was the nastiest place
I ever dealt with.
Another place in dawsonville
did the grab bag meat grinder special.
Yeah I’ll stick with Southers.

Very clean, family business around the Marion, Talbot, Taylor counties area. Good processor. Reasonable prices.

Another pretty good, very convenient processor in Social Circle (Walton county) about a minute off I-20. Prices are about average.

I can name a few more, but have only used these 2 in the past couple of years. Besides, naming a processor and recommending them are 2 different things. LOL...From my personal experiences, I can recommend the 2 I listed. YMMV

Vincent Vega, thanks for the idea and getting a sticky. This is helpful.

We could also use a tracking dog sticky.
