I told you its the Bergman rule,and yes there are exceptions to the rule, buffet bred deer gonna weigh more.

Me and a couple of my good buddies have gotten several GEORGIA deer that weighed 700 to 900 pounds. You've just got to hunt the right places.
There's one spot next to a farm in S.E. Ga that is really been productive for us.

Genetics and habitat are both factors in an area's average deer size. I have seen places in Georgia with smaller deer but some areas in the state (mostly in southern agricultural locations) have much larger deer. I think this has to do with both factors above.

I hunted in Virginia for years and have seen the same size variation in parts of that state. If you want to compare deer body weights by state then look at Kansas and other mid-western states vs places like south Texas and Florida.

If we can kill them before rut they will weight between 220-240 which will be 5+ year old after rut they will be 200-210 this is in Macon county ga,I have no clue on va deer.
