When I was stationed on the Island of Crete in the early 80's we would often get rain storms that contained the sand/dirt crap from the Sahara desert. When the storms came it basically rained mud. Everything that got rained on was soiled. We didn't have any problems with the winds bringing the dust but the mud rain as a doozy.
