Getting better at staking castle nuts

It says it’s mil-spec, but has no staking notches and it’s commercial diameter.

I’ve got plenty of castle nuts. I’ll give you a proper one for free if you’d like one.

I appreciate that! Let me see what ATI says. The order is so old on Amazon that the link is dead at this point.
 
I've used one in the past and it's rock solid. Here's a couple of videos... Quicker than me typing and explaining.



They have a mod 2 but I have no experience with it and it don't seem as solid as the first gen judging by the video, but I could be wrong.

I do like the look of the squared "tab-like" stake done with the modified punch. I stake them with my self centering punch. Find your spot and push. Displaces metal nicely and creates a good locking bond. Actually gonna do one this morning at work that way. I re-upped my cert a few weeks back in NC with Colt and told the Colt instructor that's how I did mine and he gave me the thumbs up. Factory approved baby....:thumb:
