Got me a shotgun today finally, just a cheap mossberg maverick 12 gauge and a carlsons longbeard xr .660 choke. Hopefully gonna pattern it tomorrow. Ready for the season to hurry up and start!

Turkey season can’t get here quick enough!
I’m about to get my 1187 out and try some of the Federal TSS loads in it.
My Son has a new Savage Model 301 .410 turkey gun and some .410 TSS turkey loads coming as well!

Old guy from up in Gilmer county told me years ago “to a deer, every hunter is a stump, to a turkey, every stump is a hunter”. Lot of truth in that. They can be very hard to fool.

This is gonna be my first Turkey season, going in fairly blind. I have experience calling them and have seen a slew of turkeys get close while deer hunting and decided after seeing a big Tom on my last hunt of the season I wanted to start.
