I was ate up in birds today. I heard 8 different birds gobbling. Got on a pair of gobblers and then a solo gobbler, none of which would cooperate. Left them and worked bird #4 to within 80 yards-too many hens with that one. Left him to go check a bird that was a mile or so away and answering every call that I made to the other gobblers when I was working them earlier. He was on land that I could not legally go on. I tried coaxing him but he wasn’t budging. I left him gobbling and will try him again later on. All in all, it was a great day.
