Glock 19 G5 or G4?

Am I going to loose a lot significant upgrades going from G19 G5 to G4?

Never ever make a decision on a pistol based on how it "feels". The "feel" doesn't mean anything when it comes to a pistol. Shoot them for speed AND accuracy on a timer and then pick the one that performs the best for you. That's all that matters.

Just to give you an example. The HK P30, CZ P09, Walther PPQ and Smith and Wesson M&P 2.0 all feel far better then Glocks do for me. When I shoot them all in USPSA/IDPA based drills however, the Glock outperforms all of them significantly and the Gen 5s outperform both the Gen 3s and Gen 4s as well, though not as significantly. That's just me. I'm not saying Glocks are for everyone. I'm saying go out and test them against each other and then make your decision. You may be surprised.
I think that’s what most people mean when they say “how it feels”. They are talking about how it feels when they shoot it, aim it, etc. The “feel” is referring to the ease and accuracy of use, and that is extremely important.

To adjust trigger reach and your ability to index the pistol quickly. Most people will just try the grip inserts, pick the one that "feels" the best, and then wonder why they can't shoot well with a glock or why they always hit low and left.

My previous comment applies to different grip inserts as well. Try all of them out in timed drills and see which one works the best. Pick that one.

Now let's not get crazy. If a gun's grip causes you physical pain you should probably avoid that one. Other than that, feel is way down the list when it comes to choosing a pistol.

If this is the case then it's in line with what I'm talking about. I hear so many people talk about how a gun feels in the hand or "Go to the gun store and pick the gun that feels/fits you best!" so often that I automatically assume it's not until proven otherwise.

I've seen so many shooters swear they hate Glocks or M&Ps or any other gun because it feels terrible in their hand. They proceed to try said gun and end up shooting it better than the one they own and they're flabbergasted!

All kidding aside, this is an excellent point. I’ve experienced this very thing.

Great input.
