I don't think the pull weight is the problem with M&Ps, it's the trigger body itself. It's awful. I would get a shield and put an apex in it.

Has she shot it much or new to it? I find generally the "snappiness" goes away the more rounds people put down range.

What i did is stippled/inscribed the phrase "grip zone" on my 43 and it helped tremendously

I've owned and love both. That being said I still own the 43. Shield has slightly better capacity and 43 has better conceability. You can't go wrong with either one

Either one will do really well as a carry pistol. Try shooting them both and pick the one you like best.

The Shield shoots better IMO. It also is a little softer on recoil and capacity is +1 or +2 more with the Shield as well. I just dropped in the Apex sear and left the rest alone. My only gripe with the gun is the reset. There is still a very little "false reset" before you get the actual reset. I wish Apex would make a polymer trigger replacement for the Shield. I don't want to spend $80 on a trigger when the polymer ones go for half that on the regular M&P's. With that being said, most get the Glock43 because it's a Glock. Hell, I've caught myself wanting to do the same thing but my Shield has been 100% perfect. Might consider a G42 if I want something smaller than my Shield.
