Glock 43 or Shield?

I'm a big guy and am able to pocket carry my G43.

Since I no longer have an a#%, I can't carry anything except a set of keys in a pair of gym shorts.

I have shot both (2 shields and many G 43s) and own neither.

One shield had a horrible trigger, worst I have ever encountered on a well made handgun. The other shield trigger was pretty bad, but not as bad as the first. All the Glocks had a consistently crappy trigger. Crappy compared to a stock double stack full/compact Glock.

If I had to choose, I would buy the Glock. If that turns out not to be your cup of tea, you can sell it here for more than you paid for it, LOL, and pick up a S&W Shield at a retail outlet for less than you can buy it here......WIN-WIN!

I am not a Glock guy, but really like the 43. Conversely, I wanted to like the Shield due to the price, but just didn't care for it. I paid about $80 more for the XDs.

My vote is the 43. I was in the same boat, debating on the Shield or the Glock. My hands aren't huge but the Shield just was't as comfortable. Haven't regretted my purchase.

Both are great guns. To me the Shield is a little more 'shootable', while the Glock is easier to carry. EIther way you are good though.

Shield.... But only because it shoots better, has more capacity, and is 5 boxes of good SD ammo cheaper.

I have both. factory triggers on both SUCK. the G43's trigger sux more than the usual Glock trigger. the Shield's trigger becomes fantastic w/the Apex sear ($40 part). even w/the ghost edge, the G43 still sucks. it's only with the polish job that the G43 becomes less sucky. but the Shield still has a better trigger using the Apex sear.
