Glock Barrels

What are you wanting the barrel for?

I have started reloading and after purchasing all the reloading equipment and loading 900 rounds of .40 i began to come across many articles about how you should not use reloads in Glocks. Especially lead. The 900 rounds I loaded are all hard cast lead from Georgia arms. So now i am afraid to shoot any of them with the factory barrel.

I have a Gen 3 G27. I bought the Lone Wolf 40-9 conversion barrel for $99.97 + S&H from Cheaper than Dirt and have been completely satisfied. OK well, the little wolf logo is cheezy but it functions GREAT! Dropped right in during a normal cleaning, feeds and fires just like factory original. Planning on getting the .357 Sig barrel to go with it too.

The one thing I will say about the Lone Wolf barrel is that the chamber is a little tighter than the factory barrel. I have made reloads for my 9mm's using two different dies (Hornady and RCBS) and two different presses (Lyman and Hornady Auto). These feed perfectly in the G19 factory barrel and in my CZ75. They do not chamber reliably in the G19 Lone Wolf barrel.

I have no real-world experience with them (traded my G23 right before I decided to order an extended barrel.) From what I read, KKM is the way to go for best quality.

I have a Lone Wolf 40-9 in my G-35, a KKM 40 in the same G-35, had a Storm Lake in a G-34(sold the gun), and a Lone Wolf in a G-19.

They have all worked great, and they all produce better accuracy and higher velocity with lead or moly coated lead bullets. I reload; so, I enjoy using less powder and getting more velocity with less recoil.

If I am shooting jacketed bullets, I go with the Glock Factory Barrel. I have the belief that the Lone Wolf is the best value for the dollar.

I'm thinking of getting a 10mm conversion barrel for a G21 SF, I just want the option of carrying 10mm when I'm in the woods hunting in case I just happen to run into a hog or coyote. KKM & Storm Lake offer conversion from .45 to 10mm but according to Lone Wolf's website they don't. There's only 5 bucks difference in the SL & KKM barrels with KKM being $5 more. Not much info from Storm Lake but KKM says you don't have to change the extractor just get 10mm mags. What say you, gentlemen?
