I also carry a 27 and it's really prefect for CC for my body size. The only problem I have with the 27 is that I cannot get reliable feeding when using the G22 and G23 spare mags, and that's my fault since I'm putting too much pinky pressure on the mag. But I just can't get around it. Still, I get 9 rounds in the stock mag so I'm pretty happy with it, and despite it's size I'm pretty accurate with it up to 7 yards. I experimented with a friend's G23 a few years ago and it was just more obvious I was carrying opposed to the G27. But I'm not a big dude.

Try the G23/G19 and see if it's more comfortable and concealable for you (if that's your criteria). If it's no problem I would have to consider the benefit of more rounds and a little more weapon mass to reduce muzzle flip. Those 40s kick like a Howitzer from some posts I've seen.

Like I said, I carry a G27 and the reason is because it more easily concealed. Very accurate too. I'm an average sized guy.

.40 cal has recoil but in my experience it isn't nearly as bad as some make it out to be. It is probably worse in some cheaper makes and models but then again, which caliber isn't. I love the .40 caliber.

Edited to add I have never tried G22 or G23 mags in my G27.
